The PPDM Association is professional society dedicated to the recognition of Data as a critical industry asset and building Data Management as a professional discipline. PPDM hosts events like conferences, workshops and luncheons to encourage discussions around Data Management.
Seven Lakes Technologies has been a big proponent on the Enterprise Data Management and its underlying disciplines, and has been working on multiple such initiatives with various Oil & Gas clients helping them in shaping their Data Management Organization to gear up to the changing market needs and demands.
At a recent PPDM luncheon in Denver on 09/09, Murali Bhogavalli, an Engagement Manager from Seven Lakes Technologies talked about ‘Building sustainable Data Quality programs for E&P: Best Practices’. The audience consisted of forty people from seven operating companies located across Denver, Regulatory bodies, Data Vendors, IT and Software Consultants. The presentation focused on the Data Quality Management for Upstream Oil & Gas companies, and detailed on how building Data Governance, Master Data Management and Data Architecture could help with the Data Quality Initiatives. The audience could correlate to the data quality case studies shared and was engaged through the length of the presentation. Some of the folks shared their own data quality stories and prompted to get more insight into the best practices from Seven Lakes’ implementation of data quality initiatives elsewhere. Additional details on this event can be found at the PPDM website.
Planning for a data quality initiative with an effective data governance organization is the right step forward for any organization.
